"More like a club than a band"

About us

In the winter of 1986, Doug Weise (keyboards, vocals) from the early days of The Intersection, Mandrake Root and Strider's Wrath, Steve Weise, (keyboards, vocals) formerly of Truckin and Mike Maynard, (acoustic guitar, vocals) assembled to play and record music once a week in a small area barely large enough to hold themselves and their equipment. Wednesday nights became "music night". From there it evolved into building a recording studio and a place to play for their soon to become seven member band which never quite established a name beyond "Wednesday's Jam". After years of musical enjoyment the band parted, leaving Steve and Mike to carry on the Wednesday tradition with Dave Anderson (soon to be drummer). Wednesday nights drifted to billiards and broadcast viewing for lack of musical motivation until a 16 track digital recorder came into the picture and they worked on their first CD track with Kathy McPartlan adding vocals to their  version of “Voices On The Wind”, originally by Little Feat. Soon after a local, John Deizemann, formerly of Common Ground and the band Axe, became aware of the evolving music scene after a lakeside performance by Mike and Steve. Wednesday sessions began and this was the beginning of Cabin Fever. Dave Anderson (drummer) brought in Sara King (acoustic guitar, vocals) shortly after. After some collaboration during an outdoor event Colin Williamson (electric bass, vocals) formerly of The, Crystal Stone, Stanley Gwizdak, Strider's Wrath, Shrub Shack and Pu Pu Platters, was contacted and began working the Wednesday sessions. Soon to follow was Ted Doyle (lead guitar , vocals) formerly of Axe, The Bimbos, The Boston Pots and Eating Teeth. Ted was brought in as a result of his former collaboration with John Diezemann. Kathy McPartlan (vocalist and percussion) who sat in on many Wednesday sessions over the years joined in as the final member of Cabin Fever.
